The 鶹ý Academic Merit scholarship is based on grade point average. To receive the 鶹ý Academic Merit Scholarship, incoming first-year students must submit their application and all required documents* by March 1. After the deadline, scholarship amounts are not guaranteed. Full-time enrollment of 12 or more hours per semester is required for the scholarship. Awards are renewable up to seven consecutive semesters (excluding summer terms) with a required minimum cumulative 3.0 unweighted GPA. 鶹ý City University recalculates every high school grade point average on a standard 4.0 scale.**

The Business Excellence Award
Students with a minimum 3.25 to 3.4 cumulative high school GPA with a major in the Meinders School of Business will be awarded an additional $2,000 scholarship per academic year. Once the student has committed to 鶹ý, the Business Excellence Award will be funded by either the Naifeh Endowed Scholarship or Meinders Endowed Business Scholarship. Game Design & Animation Scholarship
Students majoring in Game Design and animation with at least a 2.75 minimum high school GPA will automatically be awarded the Game Design & Animation Scholarship. This award is $6,000 per academic year ($3,000 each fall and spring semester for a maximum of 8 semesters for first-year students). The Game Design & Animation Scholarship is stackable with other university scholarships, but the sum of all university scholarships may not exceed the block tuition rate. This award is renewed each year for students continuing to major in Game Design and animation who maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Esports Management Scholarship
Students majoring in Esports Management with at least a 2.75 minimum high school GPA will automatically be awarded the Game Design & Animation Scholarship. This award is $5,000 per academic year ($2,500 each fall and spring semester for a maximum of 8 semesters for first-year students). The Esports Management Scholarship is stackable with other university scholarships, but the sum of all university scholarships may not exceed the block tuition rate. This award is renewed each year for students continuing to major in Esports Management who maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Students admitted to one of the Performing Arts programs will be offered a generous talent-based scholarship during their audition process. These talent awards may be stacked with their 鶹ý Academic Merit Scholarship up to the cost of full tuition.

Film Scholarships:
- You may submit a short sample of digital film work for Talent Scholarship consideration. The reel should be no longer than five minutes and can include one short film or samples from a variety of projects. Art Scholarships:
- You may submit a portfolio of your work to the Studio Art and Design department chair for Talent scholarship consideration. A portfolio of original artwork with 8-15 images of your work. It’s great to see drawings from observation, and imaginative work, along with any painting, photography, or graphic design. Please send your portfolio of work to Shirley Zhang at [email protected].

Competitive Scholarships for Fall 2025
Your application for admission will also be your application for competitive scholarships. Additional information may be required for some scholarships. Scholars from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds with demonstrated financial need continue Luper’s legacy of commitment to high academic achievement and community service.
This generous scholarship includes block tuition, standard room and board, and membership in the prestigious President's Leadership Class, which is comprised of distinguished scholars who participate in an academic and co-curricular living/learning experience. This award is available for a total of four years (eight consecutive semesters) with the caveat that scholarship recipients maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and fully participate in the program.
American Indian Scholarship
This generous scholarship includes block tuition, standard room and board, and membership in the prestigious President's Leadership Class, which is comprised of distinguished scholars who participate in an academic and co-curricular living/learning experience. This award is available for a total of four years (eight consecutive semesters) with the caveat that scholarship recipients maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and fully participate in the program.
鶹ýLeads: the President's Leadership Class Scholarship
The 鶹ýLeads Scholarship is available to first-year students immediately graduating from high school who show strong leadership skills. Students must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. The $1,000 one-time award will be offered to 10 incoming first-year students and is stackable on top of other awards.
Speech and Debate
Scholarships are available for students interested in joining the 鶹ý speech and debate team. This support is for team members, whether they participate in a debate, competitive speech, performance, or a combination of events. Scholarship renewal requires a 3.0 GPA.
World House Scholars
All World House Scholars will participate in service learning projects each year, complete courses addressing issues of peace, justice, and ecological sustainability and are required to complete at least one approved international education experience while at 鶹ý City University.

The Distinguished National Scholarships and Internship Office at 鶹ý can provide information about national scholarships and internships as well as 鶹ý scholarship opportunities. Esports Scholarship
Students wishing to compete on our varsity-level Esports team are eligible to try out for talent-based scholarship awards. Scholarship amounts vary and are stackable with other university academic scholarships but may not exceed the full-block tuition rate. Information on tryout dates will be shared with all interested students by the Esports Director in the spring of each academic year. This award may be renewed each year by the Esports Director based on student performance and team participation, as well as good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Meinders Business Fellows
First-year domestic and international students with a minimum 3.4 to 4.0 cumulative high school GPA with a major in the Meinders School of Business will be considered for an award of an additional $10,000 scholarship per academic year stackable on top of their merit scholarship. The priority deadline for this scholarship is to be admitted by Dec. 15 by completing the combined scholarship application along with the scholarship questions, and submitting a second letter of recommendation and a resume. If chosen for consideration, the student will be invited to interview with the Meinders School of Business Scholarship Committee. The donors will be notified of your prestigious award and anticipate a thank you letter from you once you have accepted the scholarship. Native American Business Academy
The Chickasaw Nation has partnered with the Meinders School of Business and 鶹ý City University to provide a full-tuition scholarship to five qualified Chickasaw students. Scholarship recipients will enter into the Native American Business Scholars Academy and take part in an innovative, highly engaging academic experience.
McLaughlin Scholarship
The McLaughlin Scholarship is available to students majoring in finance or accounting. Preference for the McLaughlin Scholarship, will be given to students who are admitted to the university by February 1 and have indicated Finance or Accounting as the selected major on the application for admission. Meinders School of Business faculty members will review the eligible applications in February. The finalists will then be contacted for an in-person or Skype interview. The number of awards given, and the individual amounts awarded, will vary.

U.S. Schaul Endowed Philosophy Scholarship
The U.S. Schaul Endowed Philosophy Scholarship is for students pursuing a B.A. in Philosophy. Students must have a 3.5 GPA, and will be required to maintain a 3.5 GPA each semester to renew the scholarship. The donor requires the student to be a U.S. Citizen, and preference will be given to students who graduated from an 鶹ý City Metro area public or private high school or junior college. The $2,500/year scholarship is renewable for seven semesters, provided the student maintains eligibility.
The Gary Moore Great Plan Scholarship
The purpose of the Gary M. Moore, M.D., Great Plan Scholarship Fund with the 鶹ý City Community Foundation is to facilitate outstanding high school seniors in need of financial assistance so that they may experience the educational opportunities offered by the 鶹ý City University Petree College of Arts and Sciences. Eligibility: Graduating senior in the upper 10% of their graduating class from an accredited 鶹ý high school or ACT ≥ 30, a non-smoker, plans to pursue a major within the 鶹ý City University Petree College of Arts and Sciences, and must demonstrate leadership and altruistic activities. The Gary Moore Great Plan Scholarship is renewable for up to four years and can only be used at 鶹ý City University in the Petree College of Arts and Sciences. Recipients must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Funds may be used for tuition, fees, and book expenses.

The Mary Ellen & George R. Randall Endowed Great Plan Scholarship for Pre-Med and Science
The Mary Ellen and George R. Randall Endowed Great Plan Scholarship is a competitive four-year scholarship covering tuition, basic room and board, and fees that is awarded to a graduating high school senior who plans to study pre-medicine at 鶹ý. The Great Plan selection committee assesses multiple criteria, including but not limited to ACT/SAT scores, GPA, letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor, community involvement, and financial need. An on-campus interview will be scheduled with qualifying applicants.
Robert H. Henry Scholarship
The Robert H. Henry Scholarship was funded by various donors and a large gift from the Chickasaw Nation to honor former President Henry's service to 鶹ý and both his love for and academic scholarship in law and humanities.
This scholarship is for students pursuing a degree in the humanities, preference given to Chickasaw members, and provides selected students a $5,000 scholarship that is stackable with other university scholarships. This award is available for a total of four years (eight consecutive semesters) with the caveat that scholarship recipients maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA)

Frank G. Brooks Memorial Scholarship
The Frank G. Brooks Memorial Scholarship is a competitive, full-tuition scholarship awarded to an outstanding first-year student who chooses to study biology at 鶹ý City University. This award cannot be combined with other university scholarships. The scholarship selection committee will assess multiple criteria including, but not limited to, ACT/SAT scores, GPA, letter of recommendation from a teacher or mentor, community involvement, and application essay. An on-campus interview will be scheduled with qualifying applicants.
Computer Science Fellows Program
The Computer Science Fellows Program is a prestigious opportunity for select, high-achieving, first-time, full-time students entering the Computer Science program at 鶹ý City University with a cumulative high school GPA ≥ 3.60. This unique program offers the combined opportunities of (a) an up to full-tuition scholarship for four years (eight semesters) of study at 鶹ý City University and (b) participation in internships, interdisciplinary learning, and professional development opportunities.
Gordon Tasker Schaul English Scholarship
The Gordon Tasker Schaul English Scholarship is an endowed scholarship for students pursuing a B.A. in English. Students must have a 3.5 GPA and will be required to maintain a 3.5 GPA each year to renew the scholarship. The donor requires the student to be a U.S. Citizen, and preference will be given to students who graduated from an 鶹ý City Metro area public or private high school.
Weightlifting/Barbell Club Scholarship
Petree College of Arts & Sciences Department of Exercise and Sport Science is offering one $12,000/year scholarship for an incoming first-year and transfer student. If selected, the recipient will be required to participate in three days of training per week and compete in two big meets per year with the Weightlifting/Barbell Club. Brooke Haley Memorial Scholarship
This endowed scholarship fund was created in 2005 to honor Brooke Haley, a mass communications (broadcasting) student. The scholarship is intended for students who demonstrate a commitment to the field of mass communications. Funds are applied to tuition expenses. Students must have a 3.25 GPA. Current, transfer, and first-year students may apply.
Pre-Engineering B.S. Studies Scholarship
鶹ý City University students wishing to become engineers can do so through our Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Engineering in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis. In this unique program, students complete three years of rigorous math, science and liberal arts courses at 鶹ý City University followed by three years of study in the engineering field of their choice at Washington University, leading to three degrees: a Bachelor of Science from 鶹ý and both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Engineering from Washington University. Students achieve their master's degree in the same time it would take in a traditional program. Participants in this program thus gain the best of both worlds -- a small, personal, liberal arts background from 鶹ý and a top-ranked engineering experience from Washington University. Students must have ACT science and math scores of 27 (or SAT Math score of 640), or have demonstrated proficiency in high school calculus, in order to be admitted unconditionally into the Pre-Engineering Studies program.
This scholarship is a competitive, full-tuition scholarship awarded to an outstanding first-year student who chooses to pursue the 鶹ý City University portion of this partnership program. This award covers tuition for six semesters at 鶹ý and cannot be combined with other university scholarships.

鶹ýLeads: the President's Leadership Class Scholarship
The 鶹ýLeads Scholarship is available to first-year students immediately graduating from high school who show strong leadership skills. Students must have a minimum of a 3.25 GPA. The $1,000 award will be offered to 10 incoming first-year students and is stackable on top of other awards.
Speech and Debate
Scholarships are available for students interested in joining the 鶹ý speech and debate team. This support is for team members, whether they participate in a debate, competitive speech, performance, or a combination of events. Scholarship renewal requires a 3.0 GPA.
World House Scholars
All World House Scholars will participate in service learning projects each year, complete courses addressing issues of peace, justice, and ecological sustainability and are required to complete at least one approved international education experience while at 鶹ý City University.
The Distinguished National Scholarships and Internship Office
The Distinguished National Scholarships and Internship Office at 鶹ý can provide information about national scholarships and internships as well as 鶹ý scholarship opportunities. Dr. Karen Youmans, the coordinator, offers advice to students on scholarship and intern preparation and assists students throughout the application process.
Esports Scholarship
Students wishing to compete on our varsity-level Esports team are eligible to try out for talent-based scholarship awards. Scholarship amounts vary and are stackable with other university merit scholarships but may not exceed the full-block tuition rate. Information on tryout dates will be shared with all interested students by the Esports Director in the spring of each academic year. This award may be renewed each year by the Esports Director based on student performance and team participation, as well as good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Bishop's Scholar Award
The Bishop’s Scholarship provides up to the full cost of tuition for four years for eligible applicants. To be eligible for the Bishop’s Scholarship, students will meet the following criteria:
- Be a first-year student admitted to 鶹ý City University by Dec. 15.
- Hold membership in a United Methodist Church.
- Obtain a recommendation from the senior pastor or youth minister of the student's church.
- Maintain full-time enrollment in the Wimberly School of Religion.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Reside in campus housing first-year through fourth year in college.
- Be active and provide leadership for the campus Religious Life programs, including weekly chapel services.
- Plan to pursue a career in service to the church and community.
Dean's Scholarship
The Dean's Scholarship is for 80% tuition for four years for eligible applicants. To be eligible for the Dean’s Scholarship, students will meet the following criteria:
- Be admitted to 鶹ý City University by Dec. 15.
- Obtain recommendation from the pastor, youth minister, or the leader of the student's faith community.
- Maintain full-time enrollment in the Wimberly School of Religion.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Be active and provide leadership for the campus Religious Life programs.
- Plan to pursue a career in service to the student’s faith tradition and the wider community.
Religious Leadership Scholarship
Religious Leadership Scholarship provides up to 70% of tuition, for four years for eligible applicants. To be eligible for a Religious Leadership Scholarship, students will meet the following criteria:
- Be admitted to 鶹ý City University by Dec. 15.
- Maintain full-time enrollment in the Wimberly School of Religion
- Maintain a 2.5–3.0 GPA (depending on award).
- Be active in the campus Religious Life programs.
Students recommended for the Bishop Scholar Award will automatically be considered for the Dean's and Religion Departmental Scholarships. Students who are planning to study in the Wimberly School of Religion and are not United Methodist may be recommended for the Dean's and Religion Departmental Scholarships.
*PLEASE NOTE – Religion scholarships are designed to cover up to the tuition percentage awarded once all other scholarships and grants have been applied. They are not stackable with other university scholarships unless specifically noted.
Clara Luper Scholarship
鶹ý City University’s Clara Luper Scholarship program honors this 鶹ý City civil rights leader by providing a private college education to deserving students. Scholars from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds with demonstrated financial need continue Luper’s legacy of commitment to high academic achievement and community service.
This generous scholarship includes block tuition, standard room and board, and membership in the prestigious President's Leadership Class, which is comprised of distinguished scholars who participate in an academic and co-curricular living/learning experience. United Methodist Higher Education Foundation Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship Programs – All awards are made for the fall term each year. Renewal of awards is not automatic. Applications must be submitted each year. Students may receive only one scholarship award per year from the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. Apply online or find further information at .
United Methodist Dollars For Scholars (UMDFS)
The number of awards available through this program is determined annually by the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. 鶹ý City University is a “triple your dollars” partner university.

General Named Endowed Scholarship Funds
UMHEF has several named endowed scholarship funds that have been established by private donors. Some of these funds stipulate that the applicant must meet specific criteria. Applicants to the General Named Endowed Funds program will be considered for all scholarships for which they are qualified. The minimum award is $1,000. Apply online at . Global Board of Higher Education & Ministry Scholarships and Loans
GBHEM offers many scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate study, including general scholarships, racial and ethnic scholarships, and degree-specific scholarships. GBHEM also offers student loan options. More information and application materials can be found online at .
Scholarship applications are accepted annually between December 15 and March 13; loan deadlines vary.
Methodist Leadership Scholarship (MLS)
Strong preference is given to Methodist students who exhibit excellent leadership qualities, involvement within their local congregation and community, or attended LEAD Camp (formerly CYME). Examples also include but are not limited to: providing leadership within worship services, mission trips, youth groups, children’s ministry, camping ministry, VBS, CCYM, etc. Leadership in school, community, and work experience will also be considered. Applicants must be able to understand the meaning of servant leadership and be able to articulate their faith (applicants may be asked to submit short answers to the question for the scholarship committee to fulfill this requirement).
To renew the scholarship students must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Some recipients of this scholarship will be admitted into the President’s Leadership Class (鶹ý Leads). Recipients will be required to participate in faith-based leadership activities on campus as a requirement of the scholarship. A visit to the recipient's home congregation to give an 鶹ý presentation once a year will be required.
Minister Remission for Methodist Clergy and their Dependents
Undergraduate and graduate students entering in a fall semester who are dependent on an ordained, United Methodist Minister who actively serves the United Methodist Church within the 鶹ý Conference or the 鶹ý Indian Missionary Conference may be eligible for Minister's Dependent Remission. Clergy spouses are also eligible for this award in the fall semester only.
Minister’s Remission is not always guaranteed and applicants are encouraged to apply for other 鶹ý Scholarships. Remission is not stackable with other awards and is only applied after all federal and state grants have been applied. It covers 80%-100% of the remaining annual block tuition of 12-16 credit hours (room and board, fees, and books are not included).
If awarded, students are eligible for renewal for up to eight semesters. Hours exceeding the block tuition structure will be the responsibility of the student and cannot be covered by Minister Remission benefits, university gifts, or endowments.

Air Force ROTC
鶹ý City University students now have a unique opportunity to join Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) while attending 鶹ý by a cooperative agreement between 鶹ý City University and the University of 鶹ý.
Army ROTC
Army ROTC students may compete for two-, three, and four-year scholarships. Army ROTC also has a scholarship program for nursing students. After you complete your degree and the Army ROTC program, you will receive a commission as an officer in the United States Army.

Notes
- If a student receives a substantial university scholarship that exceeds their academic scholarships, the special scholarship will replace all other scholarships (this includes talent, and/or athletic tuition scholarships).
- Scholarships do not automatically stack. Pageant Scholarships (Miss 鶹ý, Miss 鶹ý and Miss Black 鶹ý) stand alone for the semesters they are awarded and cannot be stacked with other university tuition scholarships.
- All tuition scholarships can only be applied to the standard block price of 12-16 hours and will not cover additional hours.
